5. And On the Third Day of Hashing

Black Sheep H3 - 29 June 2003

Many of The Flock traveled to The North, into the burb-tastic region once called Cobb County, which from now on will be called Kudzu County. The fear of a torrential downpour did not frighten us this day, for it was the burning sun we all feared. And our fears were answered.

We gave chase after the Hares down the Hill of Death, thru two lovely tunnels, and inbetween the north and south sides of I-75. (Yeah, we were wayyy up north.) And just before we reached a shiggy orgasm, we hit

ROAD.

I'll be the first to admit that Hares can't predict the weather, and road really isn't bad when it's cool out. But when the Summer Sun comes a-callin', hey, we gotta problem.

Was it 10 miles in the sun? Maybe 15? Well, maybe it was more like a mile-and-a-half or two miles. All I can remember is that just before we started screaming, we ran into a wall of trees that greeted us with temperatures that seemed 25 degrees cooler. We were in the woods maybe 30 seconds before we hit

SHIGGY.

Oh yeah. We’re talking the kind of rot that turns the ground cover black and skanky. And there was mud. And then there was water. We’re talking up-to-your-waist water. It washed away the skank and left your genitals screaming for air. All of a sudden, we hit civilization for a few surreal feet, then it was back in the forest for a BN and a climb up the Branch Pile of Death to a cul-de-sac ending. What makes any trail better?

BEER.

Beer and and a nice big block of freezing ice to park our cheeks on. Of note at the circle: one of the two lovely virgins received a name after agreeing, that yes, the trail was Hot In The Middle. It was also noticed that after Miss Middle sat on the ice the second time (and it was only the second time that she finally went bare) her side of the ice had a more noticeable dip in it than the other side. Hmmm… I think we found a true hasher.

Recap: A good time was had by all.
Until next time,
On Out
